Avaya's unified communications (UC) solution has been certified for its security capabilities through the Common Criteria for
IT Security Evaluation.
The business communications systems, software and services provider's product was subjected to rigorous, independent evaluation prior to the award being made, the company claims.
Michael Frendo, vice-president and general manager for UC at Avaya, said the certification provided assurance to Avaya customers around the globe its UC solution has been extensively tested and has met industry security standards.
He added: "Avaya is committed to delivering secure & reliable products and receiving Common Criteria's Industry Security Certification at the highest level stands as proof of this effort."
Wolfgang Rensky, manager of ITC – the firm which provides contact centres for the Deutsche Postgroup – said Avaya's UC solution helped assure that customer conversations are kept private at all times.
Earlier this month, it was announced that IBM and Avaya were linking up to create unified
call centre technology solutions.
