The winners of the inaugural UK Call Centre Hero Awards 2009 have been announced, to coincide with the staging of UK Call Centre Week.
Ashley Black, an information advisor at Journeycall in Brechin is the recipient of the Customer Hero 2009 award, while Stockton-on-Tees-based collections advisor Sam Jones, of Barclaycard Commercial, wins the Team Hero 2009 accolade.
Support Hero 2009 goes to Gateshead's Trevor Flack, a performance development manager at Spark Response, while Anne Winn, a customer services officer at Telford and Wrekin Council is named Unsung Hero of the Year.
Jon Snow, founder of the Call Centre Hero Awards and chair of the judging panel, offered his congratulations to all the winners.
He commented: "Each award was hotly contested and we received many excellent nominations. The judging panel had some very tough decisions to make and each shortlisted nominee should be congratulated on their achievement. But the winner of each award was outstanding and a role model for their peers in the industry."
Last week, Lanarkshire-based Kwik Fit Insurance announced it had treated 70 loyal employees to a special presentation dinner, marking their five years' service with the firm.
