Call centre technology 'creating opportunities'

Avaya call centre technology is helping businesses to "unleash powerful new opportunities", it has been claimed.

Eric Rossman, vice-president for developer relations and technical alliances at the enterprise communications systems firm, said Avaya continued to promote "fully interoperable solutions" for use in the contact centre.

He suggested that firms deploying Avaya and partner solutions in areas such as unified communications are able to connect employees and customers to information from wherever they are.

Mr Rossman said this was possible "over whatever device they have available", allowing them to get more out of their multivendor network and "deliver new value to their bottom line".

Last week, research firm Gartner praised the performance of Avaya Voice Portal – the firm's interactive voice response solution.

It said the technology enabled customers to perform tasks via the telephone that would otherwise require a contact centre agent.
