Conference VoIP 'taking off'

02.07.09

Voice-over Internet Protocol (VoIP) conference phones are the newest innovations in the business telephony industry, it has been reported.

Writing for TMC Net, channel editor Jessica Kostek said the systems can save businesses both time and money and because of their enhanced features.

Call waiting and transfer options, inbound and outbound call register, call forward, caller ID and mute are among the features of conference VoIP, she claimed.

Ms Jessica Kostek stated: "These conference phone systems offer high-quality sound as well as increased standby and talk time.

"Businesses in all sectors know the potential of VoIP services and are investing more in VoIP than in any other communications technology."

Last month, the Converged Communcations in Tomorrow's World report from media regulator Ofcom proposed that a new fee could be introduced to offer enhanced network connections for businesses wishing to take full advantage of VoIPcall centre technology.
