New research has indicated that 88 per cent of senior finance and
IT professionals believe that having right software systems in place can help negotiate the economic downturn.
A study conducted by Version One reveals that 60 per cent of managers see a modern technology
infrastructure as being "vital" to their business operations.
With ten per cent claiming
IT systems to be fairly important to their business, a mere two per cent said they had little bearing on their operations.
Lynne Munns, general manager of Version One, claimed the research demonstrated that organisations recognise the importance of having the right software systems in place.
She added: "Software systems such as document management enable organisations to streamline their processes, cut costs and have greater financial transparency which are obviously key in the current climate.
Last week, Jonathan Kestenbaum, chief executive of the National Endowment for Science and the Arts, called for government support for innovation in the technology sector.
