Employment benefits specialist Unum has invested in a new IP communications software suite, it has been announced.
The company deployed the
call centre technology in a bid to improve efficiencies for its distributed contact centre and work-at-home users.
Unum's vice-president of
IT communications services Randy Chapman said the technology previously which supported its contact centres was largely dated and came from multiple vendors.
"It could simply no longer effectively support our business goals, particularly with the expansion of our distributed contact centres and work-at-home service representatives," he added.
By deploying a single-platform, all-in-one architecture, the firm gained additional functionality, and benefited from simplified management and a low total cost of ownership, Mr Chapman said.
Earlier this week, it was reported that international energy firm JGC Corporation had invested in new IP unified communications technology.
