"We met with a number of suppliers on our journey for new Telephony and believe CCT's company ethos would support Britvic's vision and values of a balance between quality, cost and delivery. We were impressed by their tenacity and urgency to understand our business. They were pre-emptive of our questions providing answers before we had even asked!"

CCT partner Avaya has announced the appointment of Stephen J. Gold as its new senior vice-president and chief information officer.

He joins the global enterprise communications provider from GSI Commerce, where he served as chief technology officer.

At Avaya, Mr Gold will be responsible for all aspects of Avaya's technology strategy, as well as driving IT excellence across the firm's global business operations.

Among his responsibilities will be identifying and prioritising strategic IT initiatives to ensure Avaya remains at the forefront of technology while driving efficiencies across business functions.

Jim Chirico, chief restructuring officer and president of operations at Avaya, said that Mr Gold's expertise in IT and his reputation for streamlining business structures would be a key asset in executing the firm's mission "to enable the future of real-time communications".

"The role of chief information officer is critical to making sure we have the very best resources to support our customers and partners," he stated.

Earlier this week, Avaya was presented with three Technology Services Industry Association 2010 STAR Awards.
