Capita Acquires Salmat Speech Solutions' UK Operations
Capita’s IT services business today announces the acquisition of Salmat Speech Solutions’ UK operations, a specialist provider of intelligent telephony automation and voice verification solutions.
Salmat Speech Solutions, headquartered in Australia, enables customer service operations to improve delivery, reduce costs, and enhance security through the use of natural language voice recognition and voice biometric technologies. Salmat’s UK client portfolio includes Standard Life and Dublin Airport Authority.
“The acquisition of Salmat Speech Solutions’ UK operation will enable Capita to deliver innovative services to clients seeking to improve the customer experience and operational efficiency in their contact centres,” said Simon Furber, head of unified communications and contact centres, within Capita’s IT services business. “Following the acquisition of Call Centre Technology in 2011, we are continuing to build upon the expertise and capabilities of Capita’s existing telephony and contact centre services.”
Capita has also entered into a partnership agreement with Salmat Speech Solutions enabling it to use the advanced product set available from the Australian business, creating an effective route to market for the UK and EMEA region.
